Principal’s Report
As we come to the end of the term, we want to wish everyone a safe and relaxing school holiday. It has been a great term of learning, and we are very proud of the progress our students have made.
Our Year 5 students recently enjoyed a fantastic camp on the Capricorn Coast. The focus of the camp was leadership and problem-solving, and judging by the photos, the students had a wonderful time. It was great to see them working together, trying new things, and building confidence.
Report cards were emailed to all parents and carers on Wednesday this week. If you didn’t receive your child’s report, please contact the school office.
Just a reminder that you can also view your child’s report through QParents. If you would like help to set up a QParents account, please speak to the ladies at the front office and they will be happy to assist.
At times next term, we may experience staff shortages due to sickness. To help manage this, we will be using some of our highly skilled TA004 teacher aides to supervise classes when needed. These teacher aides have been recognised by the Department of Education for their advanced skills. While supervising, they will be supported with classwork provided by the school’s leadership team. We are very lucky at Mount Archer to have six of these outstanding teacher aides, and we appreciate their support in keeping learning going during these times.
School will return for all students on Monday, 14th July. We look forward to seeing everyone back, ready for another great term of learning.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week at Mount Archer
On Monday, our school proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week with a special parade themed "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy." This year’s theme invited us to recognise the strength of young people, the enduring vision of our communities, and the powerful legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As part of the celebration, students researched inspirational Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander figures—past and present—and shared messages they drew from the lives of these people to the next generation. These messages reflected the spirit of the theme and reminded us all of the resilience, wisdom, and leadership that continues to shape our future.

We were honoured to welcome Mr Mann, a respected Darumbal Elder, who spoke about the importance of NAIDOC Week and the role each of us plays in carrying forward the stories and strength of First Nations people. His words encouraged students to take pride in learning, listening, and leading with respect.
We thank Mr Mann for his generous contribution, our staff for supporting the learning behind the scenes, and our students for bringing the message of NAIDOC Week to life with such thoughtfulness and pride.
Together, we continue to walk forward in strength, vision, and legacy

Mount Archer Day Fortnightly Focus
Our Fortnightly Focus for the Mount Archer Day in Weeks 9 and 10 has been to show respect for your own property and the property of others, with the focus outside the classroom, including the gardens, grounds, lunch areas and toilets.
We have been teaching our students:

- Enjoy our trees and gardens, but don’t damage them.
- Rubbish always goes in the bin.
- Always leave eating areas, toilets and play areas tidy.
- Return balls, sandpit toys and other things you’ve borrowed to the right place.
- Care for your lunchbox by putting it in the black tubs. Respect others by leaving their lunchboxes alone.
- Respect others by not touching their food.
Staff have voted for the classes who have best demonstrated showing respect for their own property and the property of others.
Mount Archer Day Weekly and ERIMUS Winners Week 9
Huge congratulations to Prep B and 5P – our class winners who have shown amazing respect and responsibility with their belongings and the belongings of others.

A big Erimus cheer to 2R, our parade winners last week for their outstanding respectful listening. Your focus and audience manners were top notch!
Keep up the great work, Mount Archer kids! Let’s continue showing respect in all we do!

Thank you to Mount Archers Dedicated Staff
As we wrap up another busy term, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Mount Archer staff. They make our school a great place to work, and most importantly, do an incredible job every day supporting and teaching our students. Their hard work, care, and commitment do not go unnoticed.
Wishing you all a happy and well-deserved holiday!

Mount Archer Athletics Carnival 2025 – A Day to Remember!
On Tuesday, June 10, Mount Archer State School held its annual Athletics Carnival — a celebration of school spirit, sporting achievement, and community togetherness.
The day was filled with fun, excitement, and fierce but friendly competition. While our senior students battled it out across the track and field, our junior primary students took part in their very own carnival. It was a joy to watch the youngest members of our school community sprinting down the track in front of a cheering crowd of students, staff, parents, and carers. Their enthusiasm and energy lit up the oval — they truly loved their moment in the spotlight!
A huge congratulations to all students who earned a ribbon for their efforts across the day.
We also applaud all our Age Group Champions — your all-round athletic performance was outstanding and a credit to your dedication and determination.

Special recognition goes to our Fastest Boy and Fastest Girl in the School — a fantastic achievement!

And finally, a mighty congratulations to Flinders House, who took home the title of overall winners of the 2025 Mount Archer Athletics Carnival! Well done on a brilliant team effort.

Thank you to all staff, volunteers, and families who helped make the day a success. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Every Day Counts
We continue to emphasise the importance of regular school attendance. Being at school each day helps students stay connected, keep up with their learning, and develop the skills and relationships that support long-term success.
We appreciate your ongoing support in making sure your child attends school every day and arrives on time—unless they are genuinely unwell.
If your child is facing any challenges that make attendance difficult—whether they are medical, emotional, or practical—please reach out to us. Our staff are here to help and can work with your family to find solutions and provide the support needed to help your child attend regularly and thrive.

Online Consent and QParents

Mount Archer State School is moving towards an online consent system for all school-related permissions and communications. This transition will not only streamline processes for our staff but also make it more convenient for you as parents.
To ensure a smooth experience, we highly encourage all parents to sign up for QParents. QParents will be your one-stop shop for all student-related information and permissions, making it easier than ever to stay connected with your child's school activities, view and update important details, and submit consents quickly and securely from the comfort of your home.
Why QParents?
Simplified access: No more paper forms. You can give consent for excursions, events, and other activities with just a few clicks.
Real-time updates: Stay informed with up-to-date information on your child's attendance, reports, behaviour and progress.
Convenience: Access everything you need in one place, 24/7, using your smartphone or computer.
We believe QParents will significantly improve communication and make managing your child's school-related matters much easier.
If you need any assistance with signing up for QParents or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office. We are more than happy to help!
Thank you for your cooperation as we make this transition to a more efficient and convenient way of managing school consent.
